1. PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Vehicle Survey Analysis Dashboard transforms complex survey data into an interactive exploration tool, enabling stakeholders to understand customer vehicle preferences and demographic patterns instantly. Designed for marketing and product teams, this dashboard answers the critical question: "What vehicle characteristics matter most to different customer segments?" By replacing static reports with dynamic visualizations, users can discover insights through intuitive click-based interactions rather than manual data analysis.

2. DATA & REQUIREMENTS

Built on survey responses from 100 participants across 6 key questions, ranging from current vehicle ownership to purchase likelihood and brand preferences. The dashboard tracks four demographic dimensions—age groups (18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55+), gender distribution, ethnicity breakdown, and education levels—providing comprehensive audience segmentation. The primary requirement was creating a self-service analytics tool where non-technical users could explore response patterns, compare demographic segments, and identify trends without needing SQL knowledge or data science expertise.

3. INTERACTIVE FEATURES

Users can click any survey question to instantly view response distributions, with demographic context updated in real time. The dashboard employs visual indicators (green highlights for selections, proportional bar charts for response counts), making pattern recognition immediate and intuitive. Demographic panels display synchronized visualizations—donut charts for gender, heatmaps for ethnicity and education, and bar charts for age—all that dynamically filter as users explore different questions and answers. This interactivity enables rapid hypothesis testing: stakeholders can ask "How do 25-34 year-olds differ from 45-54 year-olds in brand preference?" and get visual answers in seconds through simple clicks.

4. TECHNICAL EXECUTION & OUTCOME

Developed in Tableau Desktop using ChatGPT-generated survey data, the dashboard leverages parameter actions for question navigation, dashboard actions for cross-filtering, and calculated fields to drive dynamic demographic aggregations. The technical architecture ensures all visualizations update simultaneously when users interact with any element, maintaining data consistency across views. The result: stakeholders can now explore 100+ survey responses and uncover demographic insights in under 3 clicks, eliminating hours of manual pivot table analysis. This self-service capability empowers marketing teams to validate assumptions, identify target segments, and make data-driven campaign decisions independently—transforming survey data from a static report into an ongoing strategic asset.
